Fort Wayne Zoo Visits South WhitleyThe South Whitley fourth-grade classes recently were treated to a presentation on animal classification by Missy A’Hearn from the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo. Students observed a hairless rat, a screech owl, a black rat snake, a poisonous toad and a tarantula representing four of the five groups of vertebrate animals. Most students thought it was cool to be able to touch a live snake and a rat.
