A Fort Wayne man was arrested late Saturday night for allegedly dealing and possessing illegal drugs.

Jason Robert Halfacre, 31, of Fort Wayne, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:01 p.m. Saturday for one count of dealing cocaine/narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotic drugs/cocaine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. His bond was set at $10,000.

According to the Warsaw Police Department report, when Halfacre was approached by police near the intersection of Bronson and Market streets, he was fidgety and acted paranoid.

Although Halfacre told police he did not have anything illegal in his possession, police reportedly found several drugs and pieces of drug paraphernalia on him along with a Winchester knife with a 4-inch blade in a nylon sheath.

During the search, police found a crack pipe in Halfacre's left back pants pocket and $1,625 in cash in his right front pocket. In Halfacre's right sweatshirt pocket, police reportedly discovered a cloth bag with clear empty baggies, a bag with an eighth of an ounce of powdered substance believed to be cocaine and a bag containing several pills later identified as ecstacy, generic Vicodin and Methadone.

A rock of crack cocaine also was found in Halfacre's coin pocket.

Halfacre allegedly told police he did not sell the pills but did deal a little cocaine.

He also told police he had smoked crack within 10 to 20 minutes of his arrest.

While Halfacre was being taken to the Kosciusko County Jail, he reportedly was unable to keep himself still and was believed to be under the influence of drugs at the time of his arrest.

Halfacre previously has been arrested for other offenses, including burglary, possession of narcotics and dealing narcotics.
