Lt. Commander Norm Metzger, Virginia Beach, Va., flies his Navy FA-18 Hornet (above) around Warsaw's Municipal Airport before landing Friday afternoon. At left, Metzger explains details about the plane to a group of spectators. Metzger said when he arrived at the airport, approximately 40 people were waiting to see the Hornet. He also gave them a tour of the plane. Metzger is a 1984 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He said he became interested in aviation while he lived in Warsaw. After graduating high school he enlisted in the Navy. Metzger said he's been flying jets for the Navy since 1991, and he's flown missions in the Persian Gulf. He came home this week for the holiday to spend some time with his family, and plans to spend the rest of the weekend with his father, Norman Metzger, and son, Michael, 15, a sophomore at Warsaw Community High School.
