BOURBON – Triton sophomore quarterback James Snyder threw a pair of touchdown passes, and Tye Orsund returned a fumble 34 yards for a touchdown in the Trojans’ 40-26 loss to visiting Culver Community in Hoosier North Athletic Conference play Friday.
Snyder found Delano Shumpert for a 35-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Shortly thereafter, Snyder and Zac Pitney connected for a 69-yard touchdown. Pitney also kick a field goal and an extra point, and Max Slusser had a two-point conversion.
Ethan Berry was the leading rusher for Triton, with 33 yards on 10 carries.
The Cavaliers’ Troy Bolds led all rushers with 273 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns, including a 90-yard run to open the scoring in the first quarter.
Triton (0-5, 0-4 HNAC) hosts Winamac at 7 p.m. Friday.

WABASH – Kane Gable had a kickoff return for a touchdown in the second quarter in Manchester’s 27-7 loss to Class 1A No. 15 Northfield in Three Rivers Conference football Friday night.
Quarterback Hayes Sturtsman completed 11 passes for 88 yards on the night. Devon Rooney had four receptions for 37 yards, and Gable added three catches for 20 yards.
