Editor, Times-Union: You will wake up tomorrow and it will be a brave new world, only the courageous will survive, only the honest will survive. only the ones with integrity will survive; only those who depend upon and know that they need Jesus will survive. Those of the timid nature will not make it, only those with compassion and boldness will live. The book of Proverbs in the Bible gives you wisdom and discernment, but to lay hold of that, you will need to be filled with the Holy Spirit, assured of your salvation, have confidence in God, and have a constant and continuous relationship with Jesus. Do you know him as your Saviour and Lord? I heard a definition of humility once, “accepting reality and joyfully submitting to God.” Do you have humility? You will need humility too. You can know of God, but you may not know God. “Knowing of God” is head knowledge, “Knowing God” is of the heart. “Knowing God” requires faith, trust and dependence. “Knowing God” is dependence upon the Holy Spirit at all times, no carelessness or pride will be allowed. “Knowing God” and “Knowing God” are not the same, but, in order to “Know God” you must have the “Knowledge of God.” I remember a little sign that said: “Knowing God is Peace, No God is No Peace.” It says in the Book of Timothy that: “God has not given us the Spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and a sound mind.” Above all we must fear God and we must be sure of his forgiveness. On the cross he said: “It is finished.” You are redeemed; your debts are paid in full. Your sins are washed away and your heart is clean. “Today is the day of salvation.” There is urgency in this decision, and it is the most important one you will make in your lifetime. Christians are being persecuted by Islam and ISIS in the Middle East, in the land of China by Communist China and by Hindus in India United States is next. But, I do not believe the church is ready for the type of persecution it will receive. You can’t live for self in this Brave New World. Only those who live for Jesus will survive. “All who follow Jesus will suffer with him.” Jon Siesennop Warsaw
