Flying Club Adjusts Signage Request

Posted
The Board of Aviation Commissioners met briefly Tuesday evening to discuss a pretty normal month.
Jon and Katye Fussle updated the board with their hangar signage request for the Warsaw Flying Club. They are occupying a hangar owned by Brent Wildman, who was unable to attend the meeting and make the request.
Airport Manager Nick King said after speaking to different airports, “there’s no rhyme or reason for signage … if it’s your hangar, you can do whatever you want, if it’s the airport’s hangar, it comes down to them.”
Image Air has a 14-foot by 8-foot sign and the Fussles are requesting a 10-foot by 5-foot sign, which is a smaller adjustment from their original request last month.
“Proportionally, a 10- by 5-foot sign would be right in with what other tenants have,” King said.
The board approved of a 30-day temporary banner on the southwest corner of the building until Wildman makes the appropriate request at the next meeting. After that, a permanent sign can be used.
Engineer Ken Ross was unable to attend the meeting, but King was able to update the board in his place. King said all of the insulation, outlets and steel siding in the airport shop have been installed.
“It’s all coming along very well and we’re moving forward with that,” King said. “It’s been a pretty good month all the way around.”
The next regular meeting for the aviation board is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. June 9.
