Floyd L. WellingGOSHEN – Floyd L. Welling, 90, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 29, 2022, at Goshen Hospital.
He was born May 5, 1932, in Greene County, Pa., to Leroy and Cora Yoders Welling.
On June 15, 1952, he married Wanda M. Strait in Oakland, Md. She died Oct. 8, 2010.
He is survived by six children: George (Tonya) Welling, Columbus, Ohio; Brenda Welling, Warsaw; Joe (Jill) Welling, Dana (David) Derrickson, Gary Welling and Tim (Lisa) Welling, all of Goshen; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Van Norman, of Pennsylvania; along with a host of relatives and friends.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven siblings: Lester, Marian, Homer, Wilbur and Wayne Welling, Mae Morris and Cheerful Pettit.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Welling was a teacher for Goshen and Middlebury Community Schools for more than 30 years. A member of Grace Community Church, he loved Jesus and all people, especially his family.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 4 from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and Saturday, Nov. 5 beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service at The Vine, 2616 Peddlers Village Road, Suite 2, Goshen. Pastor Jim Brown will officiate.
Burial at Violett Cemetery will take place at a later date.
