NAPPANEE - Floyd D. Stutzman, 75, of 10611 N. Ind. 19, died at 12:45 a.m. July 6, 2010, in his residence, after an extended illness from lung cancer.

He was born Oct. 12, 1934, in Nappanee, to Daniel D. Jr. and Annie Slabaugh Stutzman. On Feb. 24, 1959, in Shipshewana, he married Ruby Marie Miller, who survives.

He was a member of Old Order Amish Church, and he and his wife owned Nappanee Country Store for 26 years, recently retiring.

Also surviving are six sons: Ernest Lee (and spouse Polly Anna Miller) Stutzman and Vernon Eugene (and spouse Loretta Hershberger) Stutzman, all of Middlebury; Norman Ray (and spouse Rose Mary Miller) Stutzman, Nappanee; Herman Jay (and spouse Mary Ann Lehman) Stutzman, Plymouth; LaVerne F. (and spouse Rose Ellen Chupp), Etna Green; and Dennis Earl (and spouse Becky Lea Hochstetler), Bremen; three daughters: Ruth Elaine (and spouse Howard) Helmuth, Nappanee; Dorothy Irene (and spouse Jonathan) Helmuth, Dundee, N.Y.; Wilma Fern (and spouse Rudy) Otto, Arthur, Ill.; 67 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six brothers: Vernon, Eldon (and spouse Lydia Mae) Stutzman, all of Warsaw; Alvin Stutzman, Iowa; Edwin (and spouse Laura Mae) Stutzman, Etna Green; Eli (and spouse Kathy) Stutzman, Bremen; and Robert (and spouse Loretta) Stutzman, Nappanee; and seven sisters: Velma (and spouse Eli) Borkholder and Ruby Chupp, all of Bremen; Sue (and spouse Harvey) Kauffman, New Paris; Laura Stutzman, and Treva (and spouse Harley) Bontrager, all of Shipshewana; Rosie (and spouse Vernon) Miller, Nappanee; and Martha Snyder, Goshen. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a sister.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Norman Stutzman residence with Home Ministry officiating. Burial will be in Graber Cemetery.

Calling is after 4 p.m. Tuesday and all day Wednesday at the Norman Stutzman residence at 7033 W. CR 1000N, Nappanee.
