Florence Margret Stutzman, 90, of Warsaw, died at 2:04 a.m. May 1, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Champaign, Ill., to Joseph Edward and Bernice Stapp Whitley. In 1943, she married Ivo F. Stutzman, who died Sept. 21, 2005.
She was a 1938 South Bend Central High School graduate and a civilian employee in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. She moved to Warsaw in 1950, and was the Welcome Wagon Hostess from 1956-58. She was a 50-year member of Trinity United Methodist Church and an alumnus of the Lambda Chi Omega Sorority. She was an active bridge player in both the Stonehenge Golf Club and Ramanda Inn Ladies Bridge. She was a member of Rozella Ford Golf Course for 43 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy R. Bricker, Warsaw; a son, Jerry Stutzman, Hillsboro, Ore.; seven grandchildren: Christine (and spouse Stephen) Forrister, Cartersville, Ga.; Carolyn (and spouse Nicolas) Guarriello, Bronx, N.Y.; Elizabeth (and spouse Eric) Cox, Kelseyville, Calif.; Joseph Stutzman, Ajo, Ariz.; and John, Luke and Elan Stutzman, all of Oregon; and eight great-grandchildren.
Her body has been donated to the Indiana School of Medicine. A private memorial service will be a later date.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of local arrangements.
