SYRACUSE - Florence H. Martin, 92, died at 1:30 a.m. July 4, 2009, in Avalon Village, Ligonier, where she resided.
She was born July 26, 1916, in Fort Wayne, to Herman and Florence Brown Scheele. On Oct. 30, 1936, she married Delos Leland Martin, who died in 1992.
A lifetime area resident of Indiana, she retired to St. Petersburg, Fla., and returned to the area nine years ago. She was a homemaker and worked at the Syracuse library. She was a member of Wawasee Lakeside Chapel and a former member of Warsaw Baptist Heights and Calvary United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of North Side High School, Fort Wayne.
Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn (and spouse Tom) Michael, Syracuse, and Mary Jo (and spouse Ray) Mullins, Ligonier; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McClintic Cemetery, Syracuse, with Pastor Harlan Steffen officiating.
