I'm writing this in regards to the flood questions in the March 4 newspaper.
I have insurance and have used it. It's not bad for the most part. I have had foundation damage due to the flooding. The insurance says that I have to show a washout before it will pay for repairs. You do not get the water flow on a lake like you would on a river, but the ground turns to mud and the house sinks, or as FEMA says it settles, and that's normal.
I complained when they did a follow up on how the claim was handled in relation to the foundation coverage. Saying that it covers foundations is a little misleading.
