Editor, Times-Union: When surveys show that so many people are disappointed in the government, I have to wonder how much the Republican party has to do with it. They have blocked almost all progress in our government over single issues. Is the birth control issue really important enough to turn us into a third-world country? When he have total idiots like Ben Carson on top of the polls, who actually thinks that the pyramids were built by biblical figures that used them for grain storage, and that our founding fathers had no political experience, it makes me wonder about home schooling, too. In Kansas, the Tea Party lost the school board because they wanted to change history books to meet their beliefs. How far are we willing to go? I can only hope that Hoosiers aren’t going to embarrass ourselves in front of the nation by voting for inexperienced and stupidity over Planned Parenthood and health care. Let’s fix health care. Insurance companies do not need golden parachutes and million dollar salaries on the backs of the poor and sick. That does not seem Christian to me. Let’s remember that doctors used to make house calls, and even though I’m under 70, I don’t remember having to have health insurance. We can fix this, blocking everything and hating government will not do it. Rose Baist Warsaw
