FORT WAYNE – Five Parkview hospitals received “A” grades in the spring hospital safety grades released by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit focused on patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC), Parkview Hospital Randallia, Parkview Huntington Hospital, Parkview Noble Hospital and Parkview Whitley Hospital received an “A” in Leapfrog’s semiannual safety rating. Parkview Bryan Hospital received a “B” grade, while Parkview DeKalb Hospital and Parkview Logansport Hospital received “C” grades.
Parkview’s 5 A’s in Indiana led the state. Leapfrog issued 16 “A” grades across Indiana this spring, and no other system received more than two “A” scores.
“Our results in the Spring Hospital Safety Grades reflect the ongoing efforts and commitment to patient safety of our co-workers, providers and leadership” said Dr. Jeffrey Boord, chief quality and safety officer, Parkview Health. “Leapfrog’s Hospital Safety Grade program provides essential accountability and transparency for U.S. hospitals and the patients they serve. Parkview participates with Leapfrog as part of our overall safety and quality program to ensure we are sustaining leading practices in patient safety and continuously reducing risk of patient harm.”
