PIERCETON -ÊFive people were injured Sunday after a two-car accident at 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Packerton Road and CR 600S, near Pierceton.
Nora J. Warren, 30, of Tennis Street, Winona Lake, complained of pain to her hip and upper leg.
The driver of the other vehicle, Amita K. Gloyeski, 31, of West Main Street, North Manchester, complained of head pain.
Passengers in Gloyeski's vehicle included Robert Harmon and Janice Harmon, both of West Main Street, North Manchester, and John Hackworth, East CR 1200S, Silver Lake. Robert Harmon complained of abdominal and pelvic pain; Janice Harmon complained of head pain; and Hackworth suffered bruising to the eye area.
All five were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, where they were treated and released.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department report, Warren was traveling eastbound on CR 600S and stopped at the intersection. Assuming it was a four-way stop, the report noted, Warren then proceeded into the intersection, where she was struck by Gloyeski's vehicle. Gloyeski said she braked but was unable to stop her vehicle in time to avoid the collision.
After being struck by Gloyeski, Warren said she thought she hit her car's accelerator, causing her vehicle to go into the field.
