LEESBURG - A Kosciusko County Drug Task Force Officer was injured during a Saturday morning raid of an alleged meth lab.
Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department officers investigated a report of an illegal methamphetamine lab at 5456 N. CR 200E, Leesburg, around 8:45 a.m. Saturday.
As officers arrived, individuals began to flee the property, which is gated, but all were placed under arrested.
Kathryn Marie Pena, 36, EMS B-38 Lane, Leesburg; Travis Lee Fullington, 19, of 12113 N. Beaupeep Lane, Cromwell; Jayson Lamar Howey, 24, of 1462 E. CR 900N, Milford; Gregg Allen Flory, 27, of 5456 N. CR 500E, Leesburg; and Melissa Gene Christian, 36, of 314 Crystal Flash Road, North Webster, were all booked into Kosciusko County Jail and charged with illegal drug lab, a class-D felony, without bond.
This morning, the Drug Task Force advised that charges against all five suspects were raised to manufacturing meth, a class A felony, and each is being held on $100,000 bond.
Evidence of precursors involved in the making of methamphetamine was located in a vehicle, barn and residence on the property.
During the investigation, an undercover Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officer was accidentally exposed to vapors from anhydrous ammonia. The officer was transported to the Kosciusko Community Hospital, where he was later treated and released.
The investigation is still ongoing.
