Two incidents led to the arrests of five people on methamphetamine charges this weekend.
The Kosciusko County Drug Task Force was called to both incidents, which originated with the Warsaw Police Department.
On Friday, Warsaw Police Officer Paul Heaton stopped a vehicle on Fox Farm Road, after he reportedly observed the car disregard a stop sign. When he pulled the car over, Heaton discovered a working "one-pot method" meth lab inside.
Three people in the vehicle were arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail. Mark Edward Blankenship, 39, of 665 W. Jefferson St., Warsaw; Ashley Michelle Elliott, 19, of 321 S. Union St., Apt. B, Warsaw; and Seth Lewis Cummins, 29, of 1468 E. CR 75N, Warsaw all were booked into the jail for manufacturing methamphetamine with bonds of $10,000.
Members of the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and the Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team were called to the scene of the traffic stop to disassemble the lab.
According to a press release from the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Elliott gave officers consent to search her apartment in Warsaw, and more precursors used to make meth were reportedly found there.
The Indiana State Police went to the apartment and seized the precursors.
On Sunday, officers responded to another call at the same apartment at 321 S. Union St., Warsaw, around 6:20 p.m. Sunday. While Elliott was in jail, two men, David Lee Hyde, 43, and Jonathan Charles, reportedly were in the apartment. Once police arrived, the men said they were getting some personal belongings out of the residence.
When officers entered the residence, they found an active meth lab in the bathroom.
Charles, 26, of 661 W. Jefferson St., Warsaw, and Hyde, of 665 W. Jefferson St., Warsaw, were arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail for manufacturing methamphetamine. They each are being held on $20,000 bond.
