Five men were apprehended in Kosciusko County after allegedly robbing People's Federal Bank, North Main Street, Columbia City, at 12:04 p.m. Friday.
The men were reportedly armed, according to a Columbia City Police Department press release.
Law enforcement agents pursued the suspects by vehicle initially into Pierceton, where the men then fled on foot after driving down a dead-end street.
All five suspects were apprehended without incident with the assistance of the Kosciusko and Whitley county sheriff departments and the Warsaw, Pierceton South Whitley, Syracuse and Claypool police departments. The Indiana State Police and ISP helicopter and conservation officers also assisted.
Officials from the Whitley County Sheriff's Department and the Columbia City Police Department would not release the names of the suspects as of press time Friday night. They said the suspects had not been booked as of 8:20 p.m. Friday and that the names could not be released at that time because the investigation of the case is still active and information and evidence is still being processed.
