Editor, Times-Union: Survival warning: Fiscal, philosophic, political cliffs ahead. Take care. Choose wisely.
Obama or Romney? Democrat or Republican? Liberal or Conservative? Government: bigger or smaller? Taxes: more or less? Debt: ever higher or smaller? Same-sex marriage or traditional? Pro-choice (abortion) or pro-life? Know wrong from right? Care what choices are more likely to see our beloved country survive?
At previous critical times in our history, President Abe Lincoln cared deeply and chose wisely as did our founding fathers. July 4, 1776, our founders demonstrated great care and wisdom by declaring, “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
Likewise, President Lincoln preserved the sanctity of life and liberty by blocking those states wishing to continue slavery from seceding the union.
Neither Lincoln nor our founding fathers would therefore ever have agreed with current President Obama that socialist-like governments are preferable to our own. Would they (Lincoln and founders) also have ever considered the sanctity of human life or liberty negotiable or trust in God as creator and source of absolute truth?
Tragically, the democrat party has for many decades found these birthrights forgettable and trashable. For example, their party platform long ago decided an unborn child like the Jews of Nazi Germany or the slaves of the Civil War times to be merely property undeserving right to life. Consequently, millions of totally innocent precious human babies have been condemned, summarily executed and trashed.
Our creator put his finger on this atrocity by declaring Satan to be the author... “a murderer from the beginning...a liar and the father of it.” By its stated platform, the democrat party has chosen to become an accomplice in such nefarious activity.
Honest Abe Lincoln put his finger on another cause for such wrong headed thinking when he prophesied, “The philosophy of the classroom in one generation will become the philosophy of government in the next.”
Less than a century ago, the creator was expelled from public school classrooms. Filling this vacuum was the godless atheistic belief in evolutionism. Predictably, freedoms of religion, speech and press were likewise expelled. Indoctrination of impressionable children remains the goal convincing them that all life came from non-life by the twin miracles of chance and time. Our creator who was there at the beginning has been replaced by the beliefs of men who were not there.
Sadly, the effect of these godless beliefs and platforms has transformed the old “bluedog party of the bluecollar worker” into a liberal socialist aberration of deceivers, liars and the Bar Association’s best crutch.
Equally tragic and troubling is the licentious toady support of the education establishment (especially higher ed.), Hollywood, major media (except FNC) and all press except the Washington D.C. Times and our “You Shall Know The Truth, And The Truth Shall Make You Free” Times-Union.
By contrast, the Grand Old Party led by Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan and prayerfully a Republican Congress (House and Senate) offer we the people positive “hope and change” Obama and Dem-libs never delivered.
