The Animal Welfare League announced the First Friday Pet Parade for Friday evening has been cancelled due to the extreme heat and to save pets from becoming overheated. The AWL regrets this but must consider the safety of all pets.
Those who want to submit a photo of their pet for a prize may do so. Prize-winning photos will be announced within one week and awards may be picked up at the AWL location.
The Pet Parade tradition will be held again next year by the Animal Welfare League.
