July 1 will be a Super Stellar First Friday. Instead of downtown Warsaw, the First Friday festival for July will shift a few blocks east to the parks along East Market Street. The public will have the opportunity to see demonstrations of some Stellar Community projects, including a spray pad, downtown bike trail, STEM robotics and 3D printing. Visit the Stellar stations, get a “passport” stamped and enter the drawing for an iPad mini and gift cards. All the fun starts at 2 p.m. Friday at Krebs Trailhead Park on East Market Street. Library story time will be at 2 and 3 p.m., while a Lego® free build is from 2 to 4 p.m., according to the City of Warsaw website. Then at 4 p.m., activities will be in Ker Park. There will be cookies and canvas, face painting, sidewalk chalk and science experiments. Fribley Field will be the park where all the main action takes place from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be a big screen slide show and a passport scavenger hunt providing information on Stellar Communities. There will be free watermelon and other food trucks will be on hand, the website states. A temporary beach will be set up, and there will be music and bikes. Water activities will include a dunk tank, baby pools, slip-and-slide and a mock spray pad. For those interested in science, technology, engineering and math, there will be 3D printers, elementary robotics exhibition, high school robotics team, STEM bus demonstration and a tooth pick bridge engineering demonstration. Center for Lakes and Streams will provide water education at the wetlands. Art will include an intersection/street mural where participants can paint a piece themselves. Miscellaneous activities will include the Colts on the Move bus, community vendors and information tens, family carnival games, three putt-putt holes and huge checkers.
