First Friday 'Fire & Ice' Set For February

The next First Friday is Feb. 3 in downtown Warsaw.
The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. and is titled “Fire and Ice.”
There are currently 37 sponsors of ice sculptures, and the goal is to have 40 to 50 ice sculptures, according to Keith Reinholt, event coordinator.
There are still sponsors needed.
There will be eight sculptures with fire, and the sculptures will be placed in downtown Warsaw.
Michiana Ice Carvers Association will again complete the ice carvings that will be carved on the morning of Feb. 3.
People are invited to come and watch the ice sculpture carvings that begins in the afternoon and continues through the evening.
This is the second year for the event. Sponsors will be allowed to choose their own carving to be sculpted, or allow the carver to choose.
Sponsors should make checks payable to Warsaw Community Development Corp. and mail them to WCDC, P.O. Box 1223, Warsaw, IN 46581.
The cost for a 300-pound ice block is $175; 300- pound block with fire is $195; 600-pound block of ice is $260; and $25 to $100 for money toward a group sculpture.

A spaghetti dinner will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., sponsored by Kosciusko County 4-H Club. It will be in the lower level of the Kosciusko County annex building, formerly the First Christian Church, 202 W. Main St. Financial donations will be accepted at the door. Money raised will go toward 4-H events and the dairy barn rebuild.
First Friday has added a Pyrotation Nation show that will be performed on the center stage under the stop light at the intersection of Buffalo and Center streets.
It is a fire show that uses pyrotechnic gear and each member displays their own spinning, dancing and twirling experience. Showtimes will be announced shortly, and the show will last approximately 45 minutes.Also during First Friday, free coffee, hot chocolate and cookies will be provided by the First Christian Church and the American Red Cross.
Dennie House welcomes Marthene Burneau, who will provide free tasting of new products, including dips and mixes.
Fire pits will be positioned on the streets, and Warsaw Presbyterian Church youth group will provide s’mores.
Mason Health Care also will have a firepit and roast s’mores.
Homemade kettlecorn will be available, and Oldies 98.3 will provide music.
Lake City Bank will provide its music truck and giveways.
There will be a wine and cheese tasting at the St. Regis Club that will be open to the public, and there will be an admission charge. All attendees must be over 21.
Warsaw Bobcat will place ice sculptures in the downtown.
