First Friday Coincides With Blues, BBQ FestNot only is First Friday moving from downtown Warsaw to Central Park for July, but it’s also coinciding with the Parks and Recreation Department’s Blues & BBQ Festival.
First Friday coordinator Paula Bowman said it’s rare that First Friday also falls on the same Friday that the Parks Department is having one of its big three concerts, but that’s the case this week.
“We will be down at Center Lake Park in front of the pavilion to showcase another of our beautiful parks this year,” she said. “So bring your lawn chairs to get a great seat in the park for the concert and come on over by the pavilion for great food and a chat with our wonderful First Friday vendors.”
First Friday is from 5 to 9 p.m. (or whenever the blues concert is over) in the horseshoe in front of the Central Park Pavilion with its regular merchants, she said. All of the First Friday food vendors will be joining the Festival’s. Downtown restaurants will still be opening for dining, Bowman said.
Local band Blues Deville will start the free Blues & BBQ concert off at the Central Park Glover Pavilion at 6 p.m. Headliner Tinsley Ellis performs at 8 p.m.
First Friday is sponsored by the City of Warsaw and the Dr. Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation.
