Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory responded to a chimney fire shortly after 8 p.m. Monday. A passerby notified the occupants of the home at 1310 East Clark St. after seeing fire coming from the chimney. The fire was contained to the chimney area, with minimal damage to the roof around the chimney. Fire crews spent one hour on-scene. The family was able to return after crews cleared the scene. Creosote buildup was to blame for the fire, according to Rob Barker, battalion chief for Warsaw-Wayne fire.
