LEESBURG – North Webster firefighters responded to a call of a possible attic fire at T Square Crane and Rigging at 4590 N. Ind. 13, Leesburg, just south of North Webster. Fire units arrived around 7 p.m. Monday to find smoke pouring out of the side of the building. The fire was contained to the attic space and east wall. “That type of fire is difficult to extinguish without losing the entire building,” said Lt. Trent Abinger of the North Webster Fire Department. “We were able to get the fire under control in the first 30 minutes.” Crews spent six and a half hours on scene to completely extinguish the fire and clear out insulation. An air handler could possibly be the cause of the fire, according to Abinger, but the investigation is ongoing. The American Red Cross was on hand to provide meals to emergency crews. North Webster EMS was also on scene.
