Sidney firefighters have not yet determined a cause for a Thursday afternoon house fire that caused an unknown amount of damage. Fire crews were on the scene of the 3 p.m. fire on CR 1200S for about three hours. The name of the property owner was not available. Much of the damage was confined to a single upstairs room that was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, according to assistant chief Kevin Wagoner. Other parts of the house sustained smoke and water damage. 'It could have spread quickly considering the fire involvement,' Wagoner said. 'We got a real quick knockdown.' Assisting at the scene were firefighters from Chester and Plain townships in Wabash County and Silver Lake and Claypool fire departments. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
