A Leesburg man has died from injuries suffered during a house fire in February.
Phillip E. Baskett, 74, died Monday from injures he suffered in a house fire at 30 EMS T41 Lane, Leesburg, Feb. 17.
Baskett and a woman were awakened by a smoke alarm in the home and had to run through flames to escape the blaze.
The fire started in an addition to the home and spread to the main portion of the residence. The addition was destroyed in the blaze, and the main section of the home sustained significant damage.
The North Webster Fire Department responded to the initial call, but soon called in reinforcements from the Leesburg/Plain Township, Syracuse and Pierceton fire departments.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and remains under investigation.
