No injuries were reported in a fire at a four-unit apartment complex this morning south of Warsaw.

Warsaw Fire Department was called to the fire at 2956 W. CR 250S at 4:47 a.m. today. Smoke and flames were present in a bedroom at Apt. 1 when firefighters arrived at the location. A cause for the fire has not yet been determined.

The apartment was rented by Yolanda Kuta and one person was at home when the fire began. The young adult male, whose name was not available, woke up and discovered the fire, then went next door to call for help.

All four of the units were occupied and fire personnel evacuated the remaining three units.

According to a spokesman for the WFD, the fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes and the building was ventilated by firefighters who remained on the scene until about 8 a.m. The bedroom where the fire started sustained extensive fire damage and Apt. 1 had smoke and heat damage throughout. Apt. 2 sustained minor smoke damage and no damage was reported at the other two units. All but the unit where the fire originated are livable at this time, fire officials said.

A preliminary damage estimate was set at $30,000.

Burket Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the occupants of Apt. 1.
