Fire Destroys Pierceton BarnPIERCETON – A barn is a total loss after a fire Thursday afternoon.
The Pierceton Fire Department received a call at 4:54 p.m. Thursday to 4862 E. Old 30, Pierceton, said Pierceton Fire Department Chief Gordon Baker. The property is owned by Rowland Ellen G. Revocable Trust, c/o Ellen Donbek, according to public records.
The cause of the fire was undetermined, Baker said.
The barn was a complete loss with estimated damages of about $50,000, he said. There was siding damage to the house next to the barn.
There were no injuries and the only things in the barn at the time of the fire was a lawn mower and miscellaneous tools, he said.
Pierceton Fire Department had a full assist from Winona Lake Fire Department with a tankard from Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory. Sidney and North Webster fire departments were on stand-by to assist Pierceton. Lutheran EMS was also on the scene.
