Fire Destroys Milford HomeMILFORD – The home of Joseph and Nichole Graff, 112 N. West St., Milford, was likely a total loss after a fire late Wednesday afternoon, according to Milford Fire Department Chief Todd Haines.

The first call came from a home alarm company to the Kosciusko County 911 Center at 4:04 p.m. A full assist was dispatched five minutes later. Milford Police officer Tim Miller was first to the scene, and reported back to the dispatch center the home was fully engulfed.

Haines said there was a wood-burning heat source in the home, but said it wasn’t a factor in the fire. While the cause remains under investigation, foul play is not suspected.

The Graffs were home at the time, and escaped without injury. The couple had a place to stay, and the Red Cross was assisting them with clothing.

Plain Township Fire Department, Milford Police, Turkey Creek Fire Territory, Syracuse Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department also assisted on the scene.
