Emergency personnel talk with the owner of a home on West Lake Street, Warsaw, where fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage. Jake Menzie was not at home when the fire began, but returned before firefighters left the scene of the 4:49 p.m. fire. Firefighters had the fire under control by 5:10 p.m., according to Warsaw Fire Department Chief Matt Warren, and were at that location until about 9:15 p.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The fire itself was contained to the living room of the home, but the entire structure sustained smoke and heat damage. An employee of the Penguin Point restaurant across the street from Menzie's home noticed the fire and called 911. No injuries were reported. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
