Causes have not been determined in fires that damaged Warsaw area homes Tuesday.
The home belonging to John Baker, 2986 E. Wilcox Road, Warsaw, sustained an estimated $25,000 in damages in the fire.
Warsaw and Winona Lake fire departments responded to the 3:15 p.m. call, finding heavy smoke pouring out of the structure. Firemen were at the scene for two hours.
A Winona Lake fireman, Randy Miller, had difficulty breathing while fighting the fire. No other serious injuries were reported.
Though the damages were heavy to both houses, neither home was destroyed.
The second fire in Warsaw occurred at 7:25 p.m.at the residence of Clemente Ballin, 215 S. Wood St.
WFD estimated the loss at the Ballin home at $20,000.
Fire department investigators noted that the fire might have started near the furnace but have not released an official cause in the Wood Street fire.
