A Sunday morning mobile home fire near Sellers Lake claimed the life of one resident and sent another to the hospital.
Alice Marie Stark, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:34 a.m. fire at 5809 S. West Channel Road, Warsaw.
William Stark Sr., 76, escaped the fire and told officials that he was unable to get his daughter, Alice, out of the home because the fire was too intense.
William Stark Sr. was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, then transferred to the Fort Wayne Veteran's Administration Hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in the fire.
The Pierceton Fire Department was assisted by the Pierceton EMS, Sidney Fire Department and Multi-Township EMS at the scene.
Kosciusko County Detective Sgt. Travis Marsh, the Kosciusko County Fire Investigation Team, the Kosciusko County Coroner's Office and the Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the incident. The investigation is active at this time.
