A fire in Manchester College's Schwalm Hall Saturday, that injured one firefighter and two students, has been ruled an arson.
At 1:06 a.m. firefighters received a report of a fire at Schwalm Hall. The North Manchester Fire Department responded and found a fire in the dormitory's basement.
Upholstered chairs had been set on fire and an unspecified accellerant was used to ensure burning.
Damage estimates were not available, but college vice president Bill Rhudy said there was smoke damage to the entire building.
The names of students and the injured firefighter were not released. Injuries were minor.
No suspects have been named but a reward of up to $5,000 is available for information regarding this crime. Call 800-382-4628.
Rhudy said college students are not suspected of the crime, although entrance to five dormitories requires a student-issue key.
