Winona Lake Fire Department responded to a fire at Grace Village Retirement Community around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Wina Lake Fire Chief Mitch Titus said the fire was started by a dehumidifier that shorted out. Titus said there was significant smoke damage. Total damage was estimated at $20,000.
Warsaw and Pierceton fire departments responded, as well as Multi-Township EMS, and Claypool Fire Department was on standby.
