Filing for the May 3 primary began Tuesday and a handful of candidates already put their names on the list. As of this morning, all candidates in Kosciusko County who have filed are Republicans. The filing deadline is noon Feb. 5. Ann M. Torpy will be running for re-election as clerk of circuit court, while Brad Jackson and Ronald D. Truex will seek re-election as county commissioners, northern and middle districts respectively. Seeking the county council at-large seats are current county treasurer Sue Ann Mitchell, Tressa Nichols and current councilman Robert G. “Bob” Sanders. Mitchell is also on the list for precinct committeeman, Tippecanoe 3, and State Convention delegate District 1. Other precinct committeemen are Lynn S. Howie, Wayne 1, and Craig Nayrocker, Warsaw Ward 1 Precinct 2. The other State Convention delegates so far are Howie, Nichols and Sanders. Carl Brett Heinisch has put his name on the list for State Convention delegate, District 2.
