Feed My Starving Children Mobile Meal Pack is taking place at the Gordon Rec. Center at Grace College Oct. 14 to 17, and funds are needed to pay for the food in the packs. The goal is to pack 1 million meals, according to a press release from Scott Sterk, Lincoln Elementary School sixth-grade teacher. An anonymous donor from the community is willing to match any donations, fundraisers, corporate sponsorship etc. up to $50,000 for the next three weeks. An $80 donation will provide enough food for a child to eat for an entire year. Volunteer registration will open up at www.warsawmobilepack.com Thursday. Students from Warsaw Community Schools as well as Tippecanoe Valley High School and Triton Elementary School this year will assist with the meal packs. Feed My Starving Children is a Christian non-profit hunger relief organization based in Minneapolis. Volunteers will pack scientifically formulated meals specifically designed for malnourished children. Meals contain ingredients that are culturally accepted worldwide Volunteers have packed over 1 billion meals since its inception 24 years ago and will reach 2 billion meals in 2016. Last year more than 5,000 community volunteers, including 2,000 Warsaw Schools students, participated and raised over $220,000; packed 1,003,104 meals and meals were sent to starving children in Uganda, Haiti and Honduras.
