The first-ever Nelson Beverage United Way employee campaign began Wednesday and will continue today.
Nelson's kick-off started off with a celebration of Nelson Beverage's 20 years in business. As a thank-you to all of their employees, retailers and customers in Kosciusko, Wabash, Whitley and Elkhart counties, Nelson held an old-fashioned barbecue from 5 to 7 p.m. and invited the world-famous Anheuser-Busch "Budweiser" Clydesdales.
During the evening, Tom Skaggs from Blosser's of Warsaw took photos of the retailers with the Clydesdales. Donations raised went to the United Way of Kosciusko County from the Nelson campaign. Keyleaders for Nelson are Tara and Hunter Carlile, and they have set an employee goal of $2,000 for their 23 employees and distributors to raise for the community.
In addition to their employee campaign, Nelson Beverage is hosting the Anheuser-Busch Clydesdales for a public photo opportunity at the Warsaw Wal-Mart today from 4 to 6 p.m. All donations will benefit United Way.
Nelson Beverage is the first retail business to be a pacesetter for the United Way of Kosciusko County. Pacesetters run their company's employee campaign early, before the end of August, to set the pace for other companies throughout Kosciusko County.
