Families of children with diabetes are invited to join the American Diabetes Association for Family Link® Night and interact with other families facing the same challenges. Family Link Night is a free event. Enjoy dinner while you learn about American Diabetes Association resources, keeping your child safe at school, fun times at Camp John Warvel and more. The event is Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at K21 Health Services Pavilion, 1515 Provident Drive, Warsaw. Children are welcome. RSVP by Friday at cdixon@diabetes.org or 888-342-2383, Ext. 6732. Diabetes is a disease that affects nearly 26 million children and adults in the United States. Complications associated with diabetes can be severe, including heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness, amputations and early death. If current trends continue, one in three children will face a future with diabetes. For African American and Hispanic populations, that rate is closer to one in two.
