WINONA LAKE – The Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams invites the public to beat the post-holiday slump at Critter Encounter: Winter Edition.
Visit a variety of species of fish, frogs, turtles, snakes and crayfish on Jan. 20 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. This popular event fills up quickly so consider reserving your spot today, according to a news release from The Lilly Center.
Do you know what animals do during winter? The weather gets colder, and the days are short: Winter is here. Animals do amazing things to survive the winter. Some migrate, some hibernate and many adapt and stay active during the cold months.
Families will have a chance to go behind the scenes of the Lilly Center’s aquarium lab and learn more ways Indiana’s critters survive winter. Join the storyteller at 9:40, 10:10 and 10:30 a.m. for a Critter Tale. When you are not listening to a good story, you will also be able to:
• Encounter critters that live at the Lilly Center. The storyteller will guide guests to carefully handle critters. Staff will be on hand to provide tours of the aquarium lab.
• Make a hands-on project that sparks creativity and connects what they learned during the story.
• Enjoy hot cocoa to warm up hands and hearts.
Although animal lovers of all ages will enjoy Critter Encounter, the activities are geared toward elementary-age students.
Spots are limited, so reserve yours today.
Visit the website critterencounterwinter24.eventbrite.com to reserve your free ticket for each attendee.
