Families Against Methamphetamine

Posted
Do you suspect or know that someone close to you is using meth?

Is it destroying their life and yours?

Do you blame yourself for your loved one’s addiction problems?

Do you often ask yourself, “If I had only done more, my loved one would not have an addiction to meth?”

Do you hide in shame due to your loved one’s addiction?

Do you believe talking to someone who has struggled with the same feelings and emotions would be beneficial to you?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, there is help available. Consider attending this support group.

There are people within our community who have walked down the same road you’re traveling or are about to travel.

Families of Meth Addicts meets at First Christian Church, 115 Park Ridge Drive, Warsaw, Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery follows at 7 p.m.

This support group is to help ease the pain and burden of dealing with a loved one’s addiction to meth by offering support and understanding.

It can focus on helping families through the devastating nightmare of meth addiction.

It will help understand that you are not alone; you will no longer have to endure this painful situation on your own.

It can offer suggestions on how to start protecting yourself - love the person, not the disease and do what you can to take care of yourself first before you start trying to take care of your loved one on meth.

Drug addiction has many ugly faces, but the person struggling with the addiction is not the only one affected. Loved ones of an addict also face fears, sadness, anger and even co-dependency issues when made aware of an issue with drugs.

It can offer support, education, hope, friendship, anonymity, experience (our own struggles with addicted loved ones), patience, time, compassion, understanding and honesty.
