False Reporting Charges Filed

A Fort Wayne woman who earlier this year testified she was not beaten by the man she previously accused was jailed Wednesday for making a false police report.

Tohnya Lee Moser, 27, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on the charge before being released on her own recognizance for medical reasons. Moser is pregnant and expected to deliver soon.

Moser, who as Tohnya Miner accused her then-boyfriend, Robert Moser, of beating her with a bed post on March 11, testified during a September trial that Moser was not her assailant. She said in court that she accused him because she was mad at him at the time and it was easy to blame him. The two have since married.

During the March attack, Tohnya Moser suffered multiple injuries, including a punctured lung, several broken ribs, two fractured and one broken vertebrae and bruises.

After the trial, Kosciusko County Prosecutor Charles Waggoner decided that charges should be filed against Tohnya Moser regarding the original police report that was filed because she testified that the information she provided to the investigating officer was false.
