Fair Parade Organizer Calls For Community Entries

Posted

This year's Kosciusko County 4-H and Community Fair parade is at 4 p.m. July 16.

Fair board member Frank Rhoades is urging all units to participate.

"For some reason people think this is just for 4-H clubs. It's for community members, too," he said.

There are plenty of 4-H floats in the annual procession, but any group is welcome.

This year's theme is "90 Years of the Tradition Continues" as the fairgrounds marks its ninth decade.

The parade begins in Winona Lake at the Rodeheaver Auditorium parking lot area with a 3 p.m. check-in south of Rodeheaver Auditorium.

Parade judging begins at 3:30 p.m. and awards will be presented at the Winona Lake announcement stand.

Categories are 4-H, antique vehicle, float, equestrian, commercial, best of theme, club and walking unit. Entry forms are available at the fair office and on the Internet at www.kcfair.org/

All entries should be accompanied by a written statement, up to 50 words, to be read as the unit passes the announcement stands in Winona Lake and at the grandstand. Statements may be used for other public relations purposes. Submit statements with the entry form.

Entry deadline is July 12.

Entries should be mailed, dropped off or faxed to the fair office on the fairgrounds. The address is Parade Registration, P.O. Box 1093, Warsaw, IN 46581. The fax number is 574-269-9197
