The Kosciusko County Community Fair officially opened Monday with an opening ceremony.
The ceremony was followed by a concert at Lakeview Middle School featuring country music artist Jack Ingram. Ingram, a rising star on the country music scene, played two concerts after the venue was moved to the school from the fair grandstand because of weather concerns. His latest album is titled "This Is It." His video, "Measure of a Man," was nominated for Country Music Television Music Awards Open Country Video of the Year this year. He was also nominated this year for the Academy of Country Music Top Male Vocalist.Tonight, another musician nominated for the ACM Top Male Vocalist this year is scheduled to perform at the fair, Jake Owen.
Owen's debut album is titled "Startin' With Me." He also performed at this year's CMT Awards.
Amy Marshall and the North River Agents will also play. The concert will be held at the grandstand, rain or shine. It begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults and free for children age 5 and younger.
Also tonight, the Mister and Miss Toddler and Mister and Miss Preschool contests will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Activity Tent.
A variety of games and activities for children will be held at the Activity Tent today, beginning at 9 a.m. The activities include face painting with the Possum Ranch Clowns, Outreach to Space with Science Central and games with the Kosciusko Community YMCA.
At 6 p.m., the Sanctioned Kiddies Tractor Pull will be held. Registration for the pull begins at 5 p.m.
