Fair Events Begin Sunday, Opens Monday

It's that time of year again as the 94th Annual Kosciusko County Community Fair kicks off Monday and runs through Saturday.

This year's theme is "Barnyard Beach Party", and as always there will be plenty of activities for those young and old.

The 2010 Grandstand events feature country music recording artist Luke Bryan performing Thursday night at 8 p.m. with special guest David Nail.

The cost is $20 for reserved seating and $10 general admission.

Tuesday night the Kokomo Quarter Midget Club will hit the track in the grandstand with free general admission.

The crowd favorite Demolition Derby will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. The cost for general admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12 while children 5 and under get in free.

Friday night are the Stock Truck Pulls which start at 7 p.m. The cost is $10 while its $6 for children 6 to 12. Children 5 and under get in free.

Saturday night are the NTPA Nationals starting at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $10 while its $6 for children 6 to 12. Children 5 and under get in free.

Fairwell Fireworks also will be held Saturday night.

There is free admission until 1 p.m. everyday.

After 1 p.m., the cost to enter is $4 for adults, $2 for children 6 to 12 years old, and children 5 and under get in for free.

The following is a list of some of the events taking place Sunday and Monday at the fairgrounds, 1400 E. Smith St., Warsaw. The locations of the events are in parenthesis.

Sunday

Sunday is family day at the fair and there is no charge at the gate.11 a.m. - veterans appreciation picnic (grandstand)

Noon - 4-H exhibits open

1 p.m. - Junior Miss & Mister Pageant (activity tent)

1 p.m. - Battle of the Barns (show arena)

1 p.m. - Dog agility show (activity tent)

2 p.m. - Teen Pageant (activity tent)

2 p.m. - Rabbit Ambassador Contest (rabbit barn)

3 p.m. - Community Parade line-up (railroad underpass)

4 p.m. - Community Parade begins (railroad underpass)

4 p.m. - Goat Specialty Show (goat barn)

6 p.m. - Opening Ceremony (grandstand)

6 p.m. - Horse & Pony Exploring 4-H show (horse arena)

6 p.m. - Sheep Fun Show (sheep barn)

6 p.m. - Beef Showmanship (show arena)

7 p.m. - Gospel Sing featuring "The Dotsons" & "The Hall Family" (grandstand)

9 p.m. - 4-H exhibits close (Shrine building)

Monday

Monday is the opening day of the fair

7:30 a.m. - Open class exhibits received (HFA building)

9 a.m. - Dairy steer show, beef show following dairy beef show (show arena)

9 a.m. - Horse and pony show - Western (horse arena)

9 a.m. - Rabbit show (rabbit barn)

10:30 a.m. - Open class exhibit check-in ends (HFA building)

Noon - 4-H exhibits open

Noon - Open class judging begins-close (HFA building)

1 p.m. - Gates open

4 p.m. - Goat dairy show (goat barn)

5 p.m. - Miss and Mister Toddler Pageant (activity tent)

6 p.m. - Carnival rides open (Midway)

6 p.m. - Miss & Mister Preschool Pageant (activity tent)

6 p.m. - Commercial tent opens (commercial tent)

6 p.m. - Open class exhibit opens (HFA building)

6 to 8 p.m. - Old sawmill in operation (antique area)

7 p.m. - Little Miss & Mister Pageant (activity tent)

7 p.m. - Horse and pony show - contesting (horse arena)

7:30 p.m. - Livestock judging contest (show arena)
