Kosciusko County Community Fair will feature more free events and attractions this year.
"We understand, with the current economic hardship, many families will not be traveling far this year," said Fair Board Vice President Mike Lohr. "So, we hope they can spend some more time with us at the fair."
Lohr made the announcement at a press conference Thursday to announce this year's county fair attractions. The fair will be July 6-11.
Lohr said support from sponsors has made it possible for the fair board to offer more free events.
Some of the free attractions are a tractor pull, Mark Preston's Comedy Safari Show featuring tropical birds and magic tricks, Kay Rosaire's Big Cat Encounter tiger show, Silly Safaris shows, Kerlin's Free Stage featuring six live musical acts throughout the week, various free activities for children and for seniors on Senior Day and "Fairwell" fireworks show the final night of the fair.
Lohr also announced that country music artist Phil Vassar will headline this year's grandstand concert July 11. This year, in addition to general admission, reserved track seating will be available. The cost of general admission bleacher seating is $10; reserved track seating is $20.This year will be the 93rd annual Kosciusko County Community Fair. The fair theme this year is "Red, White and Moo: The Kosciusko County Fair Welcomes You." This year's grand marshal is Frank Rhodes. Fair sponsors include Dane Miller, Mavron, G&G Hauling, Medtronic, Zimmer and Farmer's State Bank.
