A Facebook page has made a short appearence on the internet calling out local confidential informants, also known as “snitches.” The page, named “k county snitch watch,” has been twice removed from Facebook just this week, and has caught the attention of Kosciusko County residents as well as law enforcement. Members of law enforcement discovered the page Monday and have been keeping an eye on it, according to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department First Sergeant Chad Hill. “That’s just the consequences of committing a crime and the dangers of the internet,” said Hill. The page posted photos of accused snitches, probable cause affadavits and court documents. Probable cause affadavits are public information accessable by anyone in the community. The page was being operated by eight administrators, most actively by an individual identified as “Ghost.” Ghost claimed on the page that it was un-biased, and asked members to only post evidence of snitches, such as court documents, and not to use names of suspected snitches. The page was no longer available Wednesday morning, but local law enforcement had nothing to do with the removal. Kosciusko County Prosecutor Daniel Hampton was unavailable at press time for comment on any possible legal issues that could stem from the page.
