Face Of Republicans

Posted
Editor, Times-Union:
I was more than a little taken aback to read John Elliott assert in the paper that, referring to himself, “some people say they cannot separate my face from the Kosciusko County Republican Party.”
I have been involved with the Kosciusko County Republicans since early 1970. First as a precinct committeewoman, then the elected county auditor for eight years, and following that, I served as Republican County Chairman for 10 years. During those years, up to today, I have known hundreds and hundreds of folks I could identify as “The face of the Kosciusko County Republican Party.”
John Elliott is not one of those, as he claims to be. He cannot take any credit for the great reputation that Kosciusko County Republicans enjoy throughout the state. That goes to those who have served quietly in many roles as precinct committeemen and women, fish fry workers consistently, and all the other behind the scenes work that make a political party strong. THOSE ARE THE KOSCIUSKO COUNTY REPUBLICAN HEROES AND THE FACE OF THE PARTY, NOT JOHN ELLIOTT.
