NAPPANEE - F. Marie McDiarmid, 86, of 443 Hickory Lane, Nappanee, and formerly of Grand Ledge, Mich., died at 11:15 p.m. March 23, 2008, in Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa.
She was born Jan. 23, 1922, at Lake Odessa, Mich., to Roy and Zelpha Stout Clark. On May 3, 1941, at Lake Odessa, she married Niles McDiarmid, who survives.
Moving to Nappanee in 1996, she graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1939, and Grand Rapids State College. She was a cosmetologist and owned a beauty shop in Grand Ledge. She was a member of Baptist Church, Grand Ledge, Mich., and attended Nappanee City Church.
Also surviving are a son, LeRoy McDiarmid, Nappanee; a daughter, Patricia (and spouse Jim) Otis, Nappanee; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Greta (and spouse Charles) Slagel, Plant City, Fla.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Jim Otis officiating. There will be cremation and inurnment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Grand Ledge.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
