County and local law enforcement agencies participating in the Kosciusko County Traffic Safety Partnership as part of the Kosciusko County DUI Taskforce will conduct roving patrols and sobriety checkpoints this month.
The project is made possible through grants received by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute Traffic Safety Division.
A sobriety checkpoint in Kosciusko County will be from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday.
The DUI Taskforce is a year-long statewide project aimed at reducing alcohol-related crashes, deaths and injuries, according to a news release. With the increase in traffic, the taskforce attempts to make the roads safer through increased presence and DUI enforcement throughout the county.
Local law enforcement agencies involved include the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Mentone, Milford, Pierceton, Silver Lake, Syracuse, Warsaw and Winona Lake police departments.
