KALAMAZOO – A former Kosciusko County resident was arrested after police allege she killed her husband and then staged her own injury to make it appear as if it was self defense, according to a Kalamazoo TV station, WWMT. Deputies from the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s office were called to a home on South 36th Street in Pavillion Township on a report of a double shooting on Feb. 15. When police arrived, they found 35-year-old Gregory Boer dead in a basement bedroom with a single gunshot wound to the head, WWMT reported. The suspect, 43-year-old Janel Boer, was in the garage, with a gunshot wound to her arm. Investigators say they later learned that Janel had called 911 after a fight with her estranged husband. She told deputies that Gregory had shot her and then killed himself. Detectives dispute that scenario, the news channel reports. Janel Boer graduated from?WCHS in 1991.
